A Modern Fall Wedding That Embraced the Beauty of the Fall Foliage

The wedding colors were white, yellow, orange, pink, beige, and green.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Melissa and Alex embraced the design elements of their venue, like the windows and brick, with a fall foliage-infused aesthetic to create the most perfect setting for their autumnal celebration. Lush florals and modern stationery mixed together for an Instagram-worthy design. The pair fully embraced the season, serving guests a farm-to-table family-style meal including short ribs, branzino, gnocchi with foraged mushrooms, delicata squash, and broccolini. This wedding was everything we wanted from an October celebration![/field]

From the planner: Melissa + Alex were very specific about farm to table food that felt light and fresh, so we brought Brandon from Hunt + Harvest down from the Hudson Valley to work his magic in Brooklyn. The king of farm to table, Brandon owns a farm and works with the best meat and produce in New York. We did a taco and dumpling stations at the cocktail hour which were a massive hit, along with the family style meal of short ribs, branzino, gnocchi, delicata squash and broccolini. The favorite dish was the gnocchi with foraged mushrooms, brown butter crumble, and whipped ricotta.

From the planner: Melissa’s family were all intimately involved in the design process for this wedding and truly wanted the Melissa + Alex to have the best time ever. From a design perspective, we wanted to keep focus on the beautiful elements of 99 Scott like the windows and brick, and add softer touches and fall elements through our upholstered rentals, linens, floral, and paper goods. I specifically loved working with Kelsey Malie Designs and Park + Bloom on this wedding, they were both able to craft unique textural elements that played off of each other perfectly.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was a 3-tiered classic cake with a wrap around floral design.[/field]

From the planner: During the getting ready portion of the day, we styled the suite at 99 Scott with nooks for changing and lounge areas to create a homey environment for the wedding party. The ketubah signing took place right outside those floor to ceiling windows so it really created an intimate setting where family and friends could gather throughout the day.

From the planner: Working with Pat + Claire of Pat Furey Photography was such a breeze, they were so calm cool and collected throughout the process and they made Melissa + Alex feel at home and comfortable the entire time. The portraits of Melissa + Alex with Melissa’s veil are some of my favorite ever wedding photos, you can feel the joy through the image!

From the planner: The chuppah was a high note for all of us, we designed it with the intention of it blending in with the background. I don’t quite know how Sarah from Park + Bloom does it but she so seamlessly works into the environments she designs in and it truly felt like it was (a very stunning) part of the existing landscape.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]From the planner:
Melissa and Alex from the beginning said that they never wanted to hire a “wedding band” so we leaned on one of Melissa’s old friends who is in the band Lawrence. We were so happy we decided to take what some would consider a risk hiring a touring band for the wedding, they are all so talented and everyone had a blast! [/field]
