President Ruto to investors: Explore opportunities in Special Economic Zones

President William Ruto has encouraged investors to explore opportunities in the Special Economic Zones across the country.

He said government’s deliberate investments and incentives continue to attract investors in the digital space, expanding opportunities for the youth.

Speaking during the launch of the Call Centre International (CCI) Global Contact Centre at Tatu City in Kiambu County, the President noted that the centre has already created over 5,000 jobs.

This facility will enable Kenyans to export their ICT talent as well as provide a significant opportunity for all, especially for women who constitute 72pc of their workforce.

He said the his administration is committed to expanding fibre optic footprint by 100,000 KMs adding that the ICT infrastructure will go to every ward in Kenya.

“We are updating our legal frameworks establishing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) standards and enhancing incentives to reflect our technological advancement. I encourage investors to explore opportunities in our Special Economic Zones.” Said President Ruto.

Further, the President said Kenya is implementing strategic measures to enhance the competitive edge and align with global standards to accelerate the growth of the Business Process Outsourcing and IT-enabled services sector.
