3 die while unloading construction materials in Ruiru

Three middle-aged men died in Ruiru, Kiambu County while unloading granites from a container trailer that had ferried the material from the industrial area in Nairobi.

Eight people had begun to offload the stones when the construction materials fell on them.

Four, according to Ruiru Sub-County police commander Alex Shikondi, managed to jump out of the vehicle while another suffered serious injuries and is recuperating in hospital.

The three he said died on the spot after the materials accidentally struck them.

Survivors recounted the horrific incident, saying they effortlessly tried to rescue the victims.
