[field title=”Proposal Story”]Once upon a time, in Ridgefield, CT, two young hearts crossed paths in the most unexpected way. It was the year 2002, and Victoria was the new girl in school. She and Mike were in fourth grade at the tender age of nine.

Victoria was Mike’s first love. From middle school onward, they were inseparable. Unfortunately, life had other plans in store for them. In 2007, when Victoria was halfway through high school, her dad got a new job, which led her family to Oregon. Both Victoria and Mike were heartbroken, but they were determined to keep their love alive.

Despite the distance, Victoria and Mike made every effort to see each other. They planned visits between Oregon, Connecticut, and the bride’s family cottage in Muskoka, where they carved their initials in the wall – a symbol of their eternal love that still remains to this day! However, as college approached, they faced the harsh reality of growing apart and went their separate ways. As time went on, Mike never gave up on the hope of rekindling his love with Victoria. She was always in the back of his mind, and they remained friends, often crossing paths during Christmas in Vail.

In 2020, the stars aligned. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, Victoria and Mike found themselves reunited once again – and this time, neither of them was in a relationship. While Victoria was living in Colorado, and Mike was in New York City, they committed to seeing each other as much as possible, and loved getting to know each other’s friends along the way.

As Victoria and Mike’s love blossomed, a decision needed to be made. Victoria took a leap of faith, packed her life up, and moved to New York City to be with Mike. They closed on an apartment in early 2021, ready to embark on the next chapter of their love story.

Mike surprised Victoria with the ultimate declaration of his love while on a bike ride in Vail. Despite Victoria’s initial reluctance to go on the bike ride, she was overwhelmed with joy as Mike got down on one knee and presented her with a ring. Mike had also carved their initials, “MG + VA” on a rock, as a reminder of their early days and precious memories made in Muskoka. The rest of the weekend was full of surprises and we loved having the opportunity to celebrate with close friends and family![/field]
