Minors released, adults await bond signing after finance bill protests

Senior Principal Magistrate Wandia Nyamu has directed the immediate release of 18 minors arrested during Tuesday’s Finance Bill protests.

They were allowed to leave with their parents with immediate effect.

The parents are however required to sign a personal bond of Ksh10,000.

During the release, the Magistrate emphasized that her court does not handle cases involving minors.

For the adult suspects, Magistrate Nyamu has ordered their release by 10 am Thursday after the Investigating Officer takes their details and signs a personal bond of Ksh50,000.

The individuals were also arrested during Tuesday’s Finance Bill protests.

The case is set to be mentioned on 15th July.
