Deal shoppers, gather round. Amazon Prime Day is officially back for its tenth year.
We're still a few weeks out from the actual kick-off, but Amazon is already blessing us with impressive price drops and members-only deals. After all, it wouldn't really be Prime Day if it didn't last an entire month.

When is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day 2024 will officially run from Tuesday, July 16 through Wednesday, July 17, as per Amazon's press release. The shopping event typically happens in mid-July, so this year is right on par with years past. (For reference, Prime Day 2022 was held July 12 and 13, while Prime Day 2023 ran from June 11 through 12.)
What to expect for Prime Day 2024
Having covered multiple Amazon sale events for years, we know the ole rigmarole. Anyone who's shopped a Prime event before already knows the drill: It's two days of sitewide doorbusters, with Amazon's own devices and services getting the steepest price drops.
Amazon has confirmed its invite-only deals program will be revived for Prime Day 2024. The idea behind invite-only deals is to give select shoppers a chance to grab extra-exclusive door busters Amazon expects to sell out. Prime members can visit these products' listings to request an invitation and, if chosen, you'll receive an email with a unique link to buy the item at some point during the sale. (Amazon doesn't specify how it picks these lucky eligible shoppers; all we know is that they're exclusive to Prime members.) The best early Prime Day 2024 deals
Now that we've covered the basics, let's get to the deals. While we still have a couple of weeks until the shopping event kicks off, early deals are already starting to roll in. This comes as little surprise; Amazon likes to boost interest and excitement for the event with a taste of what's to come.

It's only been on shelves for a month and a half, so it's actually pretty impressive that the M4 iPad Pro is seeing a discount this big. We've seen the 11-inch base model (256GB, WiFi) hit $949.99 and $944, but this is the first time it's dropped down to $928.99. Mashable's Kimberly Gedeon was blown away by its "power efficiency, striking display, and breakneck performance" upon testing. It's crazy small — just 0.21 inches thick and weighs less than a pound — making it the sleekest and lightest generation to date. Plus, it packs the M4 chip, bypassing the M3 generation that powers current Mac lineups.

Why we like it
The HP Smart Tank Plus 651 comes with Original HP Ink bottles that will last for up to two years of printing. That's around 8,000 color pages and 6,000 black-and-white pages out of the box. It can do all the basics: print, copy, scan, and fax. Plus, it features a 35-page automatic document feeder, borderless prints, and mobile and wireless printing. It's not the most feature-heavy printer on the market, but it makes up for it with its compact design, printing volume, and low cost. It's usually $289.99, but ahead of Prime Day, you can grab it for only $199.99. That's its lowest price on record.

Previously dropping to an all-time low $104.99, the Fire HD 10 tablet (64GB) from 2023 just took pre-Prime Day savings to a new level with a 53% price drop. You can now score the budget tablet for only $84.99. Mashable's SaVanna Shoemaker tested the Fire HD 10 earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised. She even gave it the Mashable Choice badge of honor, crediting its long battery life, vivid picture, and lighter and faster design. The Amazon Silk browser has made great strides since the last iteration and it's a solid tablet for streaming, browsing, and e-reading, especially for the price.
