Laikipia: Prominent Evangelist exhumes mother’s body for reburial

Prominent Evangelist John Muriithi popularly known as Apostle John Paul has exhumed the body of his mother in Laikipia for reburial in Machakos County.

The exhumation at Gituamba village, Kaiti sub location of Gatero location in Laikipia County on Monday aroused curiosity of locals living in the area.

Six armed police officers stood guard during the exercise that was supervised by Public Health officials and Senior Assistant Chief Beatrice Wainehe.

Apostle John Paul said he took the action in response to demands by relatives of his late mother Jane Wanja to “remove her remains from the land” without giving further explanation.

She was buried in late 2021.

Wanja’s grave was among four others in one section of the land. She will be reburied in the cleric’s farm in Matuu next month.

The Apostle arrived in the village in a fleet of vehicles one of them a hearse that had two morticians.
