Security has been beefed-up around parliament buildings and the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) ahead of the debate on the 2024 Finance Bill that resumes Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, the committee chairperson Kimani Kuria presented the report of the bill to the Members of Parliament for debate in the morning and in the afternoon sessions.

The Speaker of the Nationl Assembly Moses Wetang’ula had instructed that any member wishing to move an amendment to the bill should do so by 1pm today (Thursday).

Thereafter, in the afternoon, members will vote to make a decision on the report of the committee on the bill during its second reading.

On Tuesday, next week,  members will move amendments approved by the Speaker at the committee of the whole house otherwise known as the Third Reading of the bill.

Members will then take a final vote on the bill.
